A new site-specific public art project to be opened in Daugavpils Fortress on 21 December

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday 21 December, a new site-specific art project, “what can’t we just create” by Kristaps Ancāns, will be opened on 2 Nikolaja Street, Daugavpils Fortress.
On Thursday 18 November, throughout the opening hours, admission to Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will be available at a discount.
From 16 November, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre reopens to the public with five new exhibition projects available in the “green regime”.
“Talk to Me!” at Rothko Centre courtyard

8 November through 31 December 2021, the Ceramic Association of Latvia offers the public its latest exhibition, “Talk to Me!”, available at the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre courtyard.
From 3 November, ceramic artist Lilija Zeiļa offers her latest solo show, “Happenstance – Natural Order”, at the glass exhibition space of the 4METRES Gallery in Daugavpils Fortress, 8 Hospitāļa Street.

Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre continues to welcome responsible visitors. However, from 11 October onwards, the admission process will be slightly adjusted – upon entering the premises, visitors will need to show a Covid-19 certificate of testing/recovery/vaccination.
Daugavpils Fortress Culture and Information Centre presents new historical exposition. The new exposition is called “Nicholas Gate – a door to the past” and is located in Nicholas Gate in Daugavpils Fortress.

On September 28 at 6.00 pm the orchestra's “Daugavpils Sinfonietta” birthday concert “Towards the European Capital of Culture” will take place in the concert hall of the Unity House (Rigas Street 22).

On Friday, 3 September, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre opens three new exhibition projects. Between 4 and 7 p.m., visitors can see them in the company of artists and creators.
Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre hosts the third international painting symposium “Silva Linarte”, conceived to commemorate the distinguished Latgale artist and long-term art educator Silva Veronika Linarte (1939–2018) and her creative legacy. MEMORIES OF FUTURE PAST

On 7th of August Daugavpils Fortress will host an international dance performance about time - a journey from memories of the past through the present to the future. Its artistic concept combines contemporary dance and hip-hop, as well as dynamic scenography with large-format projections and mirrors.
Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre, in cooperation with the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Ceramics, hosts the 9th international ceramic art symposium “Ceramic Laboratory”.
Music will sound in parks of Daugavpils

From July 16, residents and guests of Daugavpils will have the opportunity to spend evenings of summer days (except Mondays) from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm going for a walk in Dubrovin Park and Andreja Pumpura Square, where music of various genres will help to create a romantic atmosphere.
Daugavpils City Municipality Tourism Development and Information Agency continues the cycle of exhibitions “Skats no loga” (“View from the Window”) in the shop windows of Daugavpils Tourism Information Centre. This time in the shop windows at 22a Rīgas Street there is an exhibition of dolls of the Baltic Guild of Author Doll and Toy Artists from the collection of Daugavpils Regional Studies and Art Museum.
