At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 27 February, the Rothko Museum will host an open philosophical discussion “Breaking down the Walls: Freedom of Expression as a Common Value”, organised by the Riga Stradins University Faculty of Social Sciences and Media Diversity Institute Global.
On 1 March, the Rothko Museum will open its all-Latvian spring exhibition season featuring four exciting visual projects. The leading contemporary Latvian painter Frančeska Kirke will present her solo show “Bastion”. Romāns Korovins, known for his work in painting and photography, will offer his one-man show “Let’s Die Together”. Six Latvian artists will come together in a joint project “ROTKHO. Made in Latvia”, based on the famous play by the Dailes Theatre. Finally, “When the Cannons Are Silent” will bring together a large and diverse group of artists associated with the Latgale Region into the museum’s annual juried exhibition. The spring exhibition season will be on show through 19 May.
At 4 p.m. on Friday, 8 December, the Rothko Museum will open its Winter Exhibition Season. The opening ceremony will be followed by a public exhibition tour with the featured artists.
Since 8 September 2023, the 7th bastion casemate of the Daugavpils Fortress is officially available in its new function – as an open-storage chamber for contemporary ceramics from the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre (soon-to-be museum) collection.
Today, on 15 September, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre starts the International Mark Rothko Painting Symposium 2023.

To turn the spotlight on contemporary ceramics in Latvia and internationally, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre once again joins forces with the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Ceramics to put together the 4th Latvia Ceramics Biennale with an exciting programme set to take over Rīga, Daugavpils and even Aveiro, Portugal.

At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 21 June, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will close the 11th International CERAMIC LABORATORY Symposium with an exhibition opening, celebrating the artists and displaying the tangible outcome of two intense creative weeks.

From 22 to 28 April, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will celebrate its tenth anniversary with concerts, exhibitions and a new display of original paintings by the world-renowned artist Mark Rothko.
The 11th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium will start at 3 p.m. on 11 March 2023 at the exhibition hall of the Daugavpils Culture Palace with a formal welcoming of its participants and the opening of an exhibition by the locally born graphic artist Vitolds Svirskis.
At 4 p.m. on Friday, 3 March, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will open its spring exhibition season, featuring works by the world-renowned native of Daugavpils, Jacques Chapiro, alongside five other impressive projects.

On 8 January, the final of the IV International Contest for Young Singers of Christmas Songs took place at Daugavpils Unity House concert hall. The first Contest round was held remotely and the winners in 4 categories were announced, while the second round - the final - was held in person and the winners of the four main prizes were announced.
