Project aim and activities: |
The main objective of the Art4Rights is to increase the sense of ownership and mutual understanding about European rights among citizens through the active participation and the revitalization of the symbols of the cities, as well as to promote international co-operation among EU countries and to promote the recognition of Daugavpils in the EU context. Consequently, the specific objectives of the project are : - to increase citizens’ sense of ownership towards the EU and its values stimulating Critical Thinking and awareness of the importance of cultural heritage to ground democracy; - to increase citizens’ interest towards their own city and its history and art expression through the participatory public art while developing mutual understanding based on EU rights with the application at local level of the EU Charter; - to participate in international events to exchange experiences and present Daugavpils as a competitive city in the EU and share its experience; - to develop an international cooperation among the cities and municipalities involved in the project in the common issues .

Project results: |
Project results: - increased citizens’ interest towards their own city and its history and art expression through the participatory public art while developing mutual understanding based on EU rights with the application at local level of the EU Charter; - collected information on best practices and ideas in the cities and countries involved; - Daugavpils presented as a competitive city in the EU; - developed an international cooperation among the cities and municipalities involved in the project in the common issues . |
