Ambassador of Georgia in Latvia Teimuraz Janjalia visited Daugavpils on August 2. His visit in the city started with the meeting in Daugavpils city council. Chairperson of city council Jānis Lāčplēsis and 1st deputy chairperson Jānis Dukšinskis met the diplomat.

Next year, on June 27 and 29, Daugavpils will host 17th Baltic Students' Song and Dance Festival "Gaudeamus". Such a decision was made by the Ministry of Education and Science in early June after receiving Jelgava’s, Liepaja’s, Rezekne’s and Daugavpils proposal.
On Wednesday, June 24, working group created by the Ministry of Education and Science visited Daugavpils.
On July 1 at 11.00 the first meeting of new members of Daugavpils City Council took place. On June 9th, in Svente the cooperation agreement between Lesser Poland Province and Latgale region in Latvia was signed. This solemn moment occurred in the presence of Presidents of Latvia and Poland. There were a lot of guests from Poland.
