MEMORANDUM ABOUT COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF THE ENVIRONMENT IS SIGNED City news
On August 29, the Daugavpils City Council signed a memorandum on ecological cooperation between the municipalities of Daugavpils and Suluova (Turkey). The document was signed by Jānis Lāčplēsis, First Deputy Chairman of the City Council, and Ahmet Davu, First Deputy Chairman of the Suluov District Administration, in the presence of representatives of both municipalities.
The signing of the Memorandum, which provides for 3 years of environmental cooperation, took place within the framework of the project "Our Cities Pairing on Environment Issues" (Project No. TR / 2014 / DG / 01 / A1-02 / 014). This program includes sustainable cooperation on the topic of environmental issues and workshops, seminars, briefings, publications to increase awareness, sharing of best practices and increasing the capacity of local administrations or NGOs on waste management practices.
After signing the documents, about 200 people attended a waste management seminar, that was held at the Daugavpils City Council conference hall.
