DAUGAVPILS CITY MUNICIPALITY PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

In August, 2022, within the project “Intelligent Nordic-Baltic Ecosystems”, delegation from Vänersborg municipality (Sweden) visited Daugavpils. Project’s lead partner Vänersborg municipality has been a reliable project partner of Daugavpils City Municipality for many years. Cooperation started between  Vänersborg and Development Department of Daugavpils City Municipality, and now our educational institutions of Daugavpils are being offered to take part in various types of projects, which helps to boost the capacity of teachers and improve educational environment in our city.

Daugavpils State City Secondary School implements ERASMUS+ project (KA2) “Increased Movement Towards Inclusion” (project coordinator – teacher Baiba Jegere). From April, 18th – April, 22th six students from 10th grade and two teachers visited Vanersborgas Torpaskolan – secondary school to learn more about Swedish culture and inclusive education. During the meeting students and teachers from all partner countries had an opportunity to experience the way inclusive education is promoted in Sweden through sports and educational outdoor activities, e.g., team parasport games, swimming lessons in the swimming pool, where there was an opportunity to learn the technique of saving a drowning person, aerobic exercises and other cooperative activities. Next project mobility is planned in autumn.

Also Daugavpils City Preschool Educational Institution No. 27 “Mana Mārīte” (Head of the institution Nataļja Isate), together with Linköping University (Sweden), Motala Municipality (Sweden), Municipality of Casalgrande (Italy), Municipality of Scandiano (Italy), Center for the Advancement of Research & Development in Educational Technology CARDET (Cyprus), as well as the SERN network, within the framework of EU Erasmus+ Programme, are implementing the project "Developing innovative learning contexts in the pre-school ourdoor spaces" DEHORS. The aim of the project is to develop innovative learning area models based on feedback from experts in various fields, approbate them, and improve preschool teachers' skills and abilities for outdoor activities.

Cooperation with Vänersborg municipality continues and this year Preschool Educational Institution No. 27 started a new ERASMUS+ project together with partners from Sweden and Italy - "Outdoor education" to continue improvement of learning  process with outdoor activities. Duration of the project is two years, during which it is planned to increase teachers’ skills to develop safe and innovative outdoor spaces for pre-school, to create a new space for outdoor activities that will help to boost learning process, as well as to share the best practices among teachers on how to increase children's understanding and curiosity about the environment.
