Archbishop Elmārs Ernsts Rozītis: „An impression about Daugavpils is very nice and sincere” City news
On the 21st -22nd of October Daugavpils vas visited by Latvian Lutheran Evangelic church Elmārs Ernsts Rozītis. On the 22nd of October this high rated guest was greeted byDaugavpils City Council Chairperson Žanna Kulakova.
Mr. Rozitis told that on October21 inDaugavpilshe scheduled a lot of meetings, at the Lutheran community, and with priests of other religions, he also managed to see the city, visited the fortress. To give more accurate and comprehensive view of todayDaugavpils, by Daugavpils City Council Chairperson Žanna Kulakova demonstrated a presentation about the city. It told about history and about education, cities of cooperation, the economics and the efforts of governments to develop business and attract investments.
Žanna Kulakova emphasized that entrepreneurial activity means taxes, new working places, and therefore, the development of the entire city. She spoke about the modernization of the infrastructure of the city, because believes that it is directly related to the development of entrepreneurship. Mr. Rozitis was interested in the project of theRotkoCenter, because he has seen personally the original works of Rotko's art in museums.
Mr. Rozitis heard a lot aboutDaugavpilsairport, so asked about the fate of the project. Žanna Kulakova explained that the airfield is already running, it is certified, but now take place works on the establishment of an international airport. At this point, all efforts are directed to work with the government in order to attract funding.

After the presentation about the city Mr. Rozitis spoke about his activities that further communities work in North America, South America, andAustralia.
